Creating A Butterfly Garden

You can create a butterfly garden by growing the plants that support the butterflies entire life cycle. The habitat needs of a butterfly and caterpillar are:
  • Host plants for butterfly egg laying and catepillar feeding.
  • Nectar plants for butterfly feeding.

By planting these types of plants you will have created a habitat providing food and shelter for many species at their different life stages. It can be anywhere, big or small.
Many plants that grow naturally around us are used by our local butterflies to lay eggs on and then feed the catepillars.
